Facility Building and Grounds Technician -8Am-4PM
Essential Functions:
· Maintain all building and grounds in proper repair and in good working condition.
· Performing routine tasks including, general cleaning, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical/lighting, fire and safety protection equipment, mechanical and control systems.
· Provide technical support for plant as required and make specific recommendations for mechanical installations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of all plant and ground equipment.
· Ensure projects are completed timely, correctly, safely and to the highest quality standard.
· Maintain a clean and safe production line or work area at all times.
· Comply with plant safety standards, cGMPs, current standard practices, and all other plant policies, rules and procedures.
· Identify equipment problems before occurrence.
· Maintain the following: boilers, air compressors/dryers, air conditioning units, heating units (steam and gas), various pumps, tanks, agitators, heat exchangers, intake/exhaust fans, mowing equipment, and fire protection systems along with other areas as needed.
· Maintain compliance with training requirements.
· Participate in team meetings as needed.
· Perform and record preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
· Complete all necessary documentation according to current Good Manufacturing Practices.
· May be required to work directly with contractors regarding new or existing equipment issues.
· Perform all duties in a safe manner using proper tools and wearing appropriate protective equipment as required.
· This role will require using a company truck and traveling to our warehouse location 5-10 minutes away to maintain the building and grounds.
· Assist with handling hazardous waste for the facility, which may include but is not limited to moving, labeling, loading, inspecting, and dispensing.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Training Required:
· High School Diploma or GED
· At least 2 years’ building maintenance experience in manufacturing or related field.
· Working knowledge of electricity.
· Knowledge of methods and techniques used in the operation, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment.
· Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Special Requirements
· Ability to obtain Forklift Certification
· Nonsmoking facility all locations
· No cell phones within manufacturing or warehouse areas at any time.
· Cell phone will be put away and only utilized during lunch or breaks.
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to physically endure work schedule.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to adjust and move equipment to complete projects. Will work on the interior and exterior of facility.
· Must be able to climb and balance.
· May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and conditions.
Reporting Relationships:
· Reports to Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
