About the Job
What you will do:
- Leads and coordinates the activities of maintenance staff.
- Prepare daily maintenance schedules and allocate work to techs based on known skills/abilities.
- Inspect the facility and equipment to identify any necessary maintenance or repairs.
- Ensure that all maintenance work complies with safety standards and legal regulations.
- Locates hard to find parts or special equipment.
- Document SOPs and processes.
- Oversee the procurement of supplies and equipment.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff.
- Arranges for and manages appropriate third-party contractor support as needed.
- Resolving any issues or problems related to the maintenance of the facility.
- Report on maintenance activities and performance.
- Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., machine installs).
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment/machinery.
- Evaluate problematic systems within the facilities and determine what installation or repair services need performed, as needed.
- Any additional tasks assigned by the Facilities or Maintenance Managers.
- Assists others in making repairs, as needed.
Team:
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to coach, mentor, and teach others.
- Strong technical skills including mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics; Both electrical and mechanical
- Problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of maintenance procedures and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or minimum 5 years’ experience leading a team.
- Experience with ERP systems, JD Edwards a plus.
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), preferably asset essentials
- Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform responsibilities.
- Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for coordinating the work of the maintenance team.
- Prior experience with basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
- Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties.
- Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.).
