Job DescriptionThe Plant Maintenance Manager position at our Kansas City facility involves all aspects of effectively managing the maintenance staff and related activities at our 160k sq ft rotary printing and converting facility. This position will oversee all major mechanical, electrical & process control system and maintenance activities, including system improvements, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause determination, and corrective action implementation. This includes both the maintenance of our Aquaflex, Webtron, and Mark Andy presses and converting equipment as well as coordinating facility maintenance activities. This position must work to ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with building codes and specification, OSHA mandates, and other safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing the maintenance operations for a 160k sq ft rotary press printing operation to include production equipment and facility maintenance
Managing a staff of 5-8 maintenance associates
Ensure all OSHA, FM Global, and general company safety compliance standards are being met
Ensure compliance with standards and reporting procedures
Managing large capital equipment and facility projects
Manage maintenance for a fleet of rotary flexographic presses and associated converting equipment, (including Aquaflex, Webtron, Mark Andy, Roto Flex)
Manage and coordinate facility maintenance to include HVAC, Electrical, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer unit (RTO)
Managing parts inventory to include ordering, maintaining proper inventory levels, issuing parts transfers
Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment and replacement parts.
Meet with vendors and suppliers to discuss/negotiate products, equipment, and any needed contract services.
Oversee all Maintenance Department functions, including prioritization, operation, administration, technical supervision, and management of maintenance projects.
Manage all Maintenance Department team members, including developing and executing training plans as well as developing and delivering reviews and performance improvement action plans.
Coordinate installation of production equipment with vendors and subcontractors.
Conduct preventative maintenance work on all equipment and maintain and manage the machinery logs.
Manage and use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for parts, preventative maintenance, and asset management, including system configuration, establishing best practices, and training new users.
Document maintenance procedures and instructions.
Establish equipment preventative maintenance schedules and prioritize repair and maintenance work and projects to minimize disruption of facility operations.
Compile operational records, such as down time/production records, equipment/parts inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results
Responsible for hiring, developing, disciplining, performance reviews.
Establish open communication lines with facility(s) associates, peers, and team members in other locations.
Qualifications
Experience:
Management experience in a large manufacturing plant 5+ years
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience in printing industry or manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with OSHA, FM Global, ARC Flash, and other safety compliance standards
Leadership experience, preferably experience managing or supervising a technical staff.
Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Experience with flexographic printing a plus.
Experience managing large-scale maintenance facilities and projects.
Skill Sets:
Must have superior work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to properly supervise and motivate associates with varied skill levels.
Must be detail oriented
Proficient in MS word, MS Excel, Power Point, and Project or similar business software tools
