MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a Facility Manager to join the team with the Operations & Test Division on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration.
As a Facility Manageryou will:
- Oversee employee and visitor safety, building maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, and ensure compliance with environmental and occupational safety and health procedures relating to facility operations
- Coordinate and approve outages to include water, electrical, mechanical, fire systems, and other building systems with the customer and the facilities contractor
- Monitor building construction, repair, modification, and maintenance while keeping the appropriate personnel apprised of any issues associated with such activities
- Prepare work requests and related documentation for facility changes and track to completion
- Provide resolution to safety discrepancies, Close Calls, and Mishap Reports
- Document rooms/areas in the Building Inspection Tracking System (BITS) database as they areinspected
- Oversee building security by providing access and maintaining access codes
- Work with the custodial contractor to ensure the interior and exterior of the buildings are kept in accordance with the contractor's schedule and standards
- Consistently work with customer management and provide facility status as needed
- Participate in User Readiness Reviews (URRs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) occurring in the facility assigned
- Coordinate preparations for Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) audits and attend OSHA VPP inspections
- Review all documentation concerning Hurricane & Severe Weather Plans and Emergency Action Plans
- Serve as the principal fire warden; maintain a fire warden assistance list, and coordinate with the assistant fire wardens and Fire
- Protection Service (FPS) during actual alarms and drills
- Assist EA Facility Planner and Move Coordinator with planning and moves throughout the Engineering Directorate
- Update the Evacuation Floor Plans at a minimum every three years
- Ensure the quarterly and annual inventories of hazardous materials are kept on schedule
- Ensure flammable cabinets are maintained and in compliance for occupant safety

Requisition Qualifications:
- Typically requires a HS diploma and 5 years of experience or BS in Engineering Technology or related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Strong interpersonal skills
Requisition Preferences:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Johnson Space Center facility operations experience
- Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Test/User Readiness Review processes
Proof of US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a US government background investigation.

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
