Faculty Support Coordinator
Reports to: Online Associate Dean, College of Education and Behavioral Sciences
Job status: Exempt
Job Summary:
The Faculty Support Coordinator (FSC) works closely with the Online Associate Dean (OAD) and the Online Department Chairs (ODC) to support the students and faculty of the school/college.
Description of Duties:
- Since the Online Associate Dean (OAD) oversees a department and receives no secretary or administrative assistance, the Faculty Support Coordinator (FSC) will serve and support the OAD.
- Serves as a representative of the OAD and is empowered to speak to issues as deemed necessary by the OAD.
- Receives, manages and enforces imperatives of the OAD, Online Department Chair (ODC) and VP Pampell Global Campus.
- Receives and reviews recommended online Faculty teaching assignments from ODC and submits course assignments to the OAD.
- Supports online Faculty by responding to all questions related to HCU policies and procedures, technical issues, compensation, teaching load, future scheduling of courses W-9, etc.
- Collects and reviews all assessment and course evaluations from the ODC and reports all online Faculty assessment and course evaluations to the OAD.
- Serves as a liaison between the OAC, ODC, and Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Communicates with the OAC in order to maintain and update the Faculty Communication Center (FCC).
- Notifies faculty of current schedules. (Sends an email to each faculty member informing them of assigned load, full sections and benched)
- Regarding assisting new hires:
- After consulting with the OAD and ODC regarding faculty hiring needs, the FSC will be responsible to oversee the faculty application process:
- Communication with the applicant (the inquiry to final folder completion).
- When a final folder is received, the FSC is responsible for seeing application packet through to final hiring process.
- Once hired the FSC will assist the new faculty in the following areas:
- Send a follow-up e-mail to each online faculty member with faculty ID number and the basic instruction letter that lays out instructions for setting up their username and password as well as provides guidelines on what to expect in the training period.
- Set new adjuncts up in the Online Faculty Orientation Course (OFOC)
- Coordinates training of new online Faculty with the applicable IM.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- At least three or more years’ experience performing project management activities.
- Possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Possess the ability to effectively communicate and present research findings, projects, and recommendations
- Able to organize and independently manage various projects simultaneously
- Able to be results-oriented
- Able to demonstrate sufficient analytical and strategic thinking to plan and manage designated projects to ensure project progress on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
- Able to use personal software packages to perform word processing activities, as well as create and generate spreadsheets
Ability to work effectively with others - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in Blackboard SAAS and/or Ultra LMS and Canvas LMS
- Ability to operate office equipment (i.e., copiers, fax machines, etc)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in dealing with large workloads
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under tight deadlines
- Ability to quickly learn and use specific business software and hardware
