JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Illinois RN License
• Bachelor's degree in nursing. Master's Preferred.
• Combination of education and relative experience that provides knowledge, skills and ability to successfully fulfill job responsibilities may substitute.
• Certification in clinical area of nursing administration preferred.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience.
• Supervisory or leadership role demonstrated in past experience.

JOB DUTIES

• Registered professional nurse who is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the growth and development of the unit's patient care services consistent with organizational goals and identified unit needs. 
• The Birth Center Nurse Director will develop and mentor staff, ensuring clinical competencies and quality improvements.
• Administrative duties such as budgeting, staffing, and operations.
• Maintain relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop and implement policies and procedures by advocating for the rights and safety of patients and staff.
• Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Birth Center Nurse Director will provide multidisciplinary leadership and administrative authority for multiple patient care units and departments on a 24-hour basis.
• The Director will be supported by a tenured and experienced team of Labor and Delivery Nurses ensuring seamless operation and excellence in patient care.
• Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
