Position Summary:
The Family Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for managing the organization's communication efforts with new families in Kentucky and Southern Indiana, and medical/healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include connecting with new families and creating procedures to keep them engaged throughout their lifetime, creating transition support packets/information and making sure it is delivered to families when applicable, and working with the medical community to help educate and advocate for our families. This position will work closely with the Executive Director and Program Managers.

- SoIN Academy Support.
- New Family Engagement.
- Transition Support.
- Medical Outreach.
Essential Duties:
- Plan and facilitate as a team with the Engagement Coordinator, two SoIN Academy classes a week
- Assemble welcome baskets for new families and deliver to hospitals
- Contact families of children from birth to end of middle school who may need support during transitions
- Communicate to families when transitions are approaching for their age group
- Maintain and build relationships with community partners.
- Maintain required monthly reporting for each area of accountability
- Attend Monthly Prenatal Updates calls.
- Connect with families in the hospital.
- Work with Transitions Manager to build, manage and support Family Mentor Program.
- Coordinate New Baby visits with Executive Director and Early Ed. Director.
- Provide medical outreach and resources including recommended physicians, and educational materials.
- Add, maintain, and build relationships with DSL family businesses
- Update family information in database as notified of changes
- Knowledgeable and able to present our Kindness Warrior Training in different settings.
- Be an ambassador for DSL.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Certifications, Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field preferred
- 1-3 years professional experience.
- Family member with Down syndrome preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written skills are mandatory, as well as organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to be self-motivated and disciplined.
- Excellent working knowledge of software applications including Google Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
