Job Title: Family Law Attorney (Divorce Specialist)

GPAC is partnering with a distinguished law firm in search of a Family Law Attorney specializing in divorce cases. This critical role involves providing expert legal counsel and compassionate support to clients navigating one of life’s most challenging transitions. Key Responsibilities:
Client Consultation & Strategy:
- Conduct detailed consultations to understand clients’ personal and legal needs.
- Develop customized strategies to protect clients' rights and achieve their goals.
Divorce Representation:
- Handle all aspects of divorce cases, from initial filings to courtroom representation.
- Advocate effectively in mediations, negotiations, and hearings, striving for optimal outcomes.
Negotiation & Settlement:
- Lead negotiations to achieve favorable settlements regarding asset division, spousal support, and child custody.
- Employ mediation skills to minimize conflict and promote amicable resolutions.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare, review, and file essential divorce-related legal documents with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ensure all filings comply with local, state, and court regulations.
Court Representation & Legal Research:
- Represent clients during hearings, trials, and post-judgment proceedings.
- Stay abreast of changes in family law to offer informed, cutting-edge legal counsel.
Client Communication & Support:
- Provide clients with regular updates and clear communication throughout the legal process.
- Empower clients by educating them about their rights and options, helping them make informed decisions.
Collaboration & Professionalism:
- Work closely with financial advisors, child psychologists, and other experts to support comprehensive case strategies.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, ensuring client confidentiality and integrity.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active membership in the Virginia State Bar and eligibility to practice in Virginia.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in family law, with a primary focus on divorce cases.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Personal Attributes: Empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and able to handle sensitive situations with care.
