The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Virginia and possess at least 3 years of experience in family law. Trial experience or prior clerkship is a plus.

Job Description:
The Family Law Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child and spousal support, property division, and other domestic relations cases. Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and property division
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Provide counsel to clients and develop case strategies
- Negotiate settlements and collaborate with opposing counsel
- Manage client relationships with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication
- Stay current on developments in family law and Virginia-specific legislation
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Must be admitted to practice law in Virginia
- Minimum of 3 years of family law experience, with an emphasis on litigation
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proven ability to handle a high volume of cases and work independently
- Trial experience or prior clerkship experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines effectively
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with complex family law cases, including high-net-worth divorces, contested custody battles, and prenuptial agreements
- Familiarity with Virginia family law procedures and local court rules
- Mediation and negotiation experience
