Requirements:
- Lived Experience with as a parent or caregiver of a child with mental health challenges
- Eligibility under current PA legal and regulatory requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, PA FBI Clearance
- Sensitivity to service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics

Responsibilities:
- Will build trust by relating to the participant and sharing parts of their own story
- Will use their own experiences to guide a participant in all activities of daily life. Will assist with finding and receiving services, finding resources, and improving the participant's social skills
- Will help the participant develop skills, confidence, and relationships. Will use shared decision making with the participant to create goals and service plans
- Provide supportive services and advocacy for participants receiving services
- Travel will occur within Luzerne and Wyoming county as well as the potential for travel out of state.

A Family Peer Support Specialist will be someone with lived experience in the behavioral/mental health services and/or child-serving systems. They can navigate the systems and help others by sharing their story and working with the participants to be a productive member of the community.
