Are you a detail-oriented engineer with a passion for automotive innovation? Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a talented Fastener Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the optimal design and implementation of bolted joints across our vehicle lineup. This is a DIRECT HIRE position with the company pay starting at $100K.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Design Engineers to optimize bolted joint designs for manufacturability and specify tooling requirements.
Source and procure necessary fasteners, drawings, and samples.
Conduct upfront analysis of bolted joint systems to identify potential issues and minimize redesigns.
Partner with test technicians to define test parameters and analyze test data.
Determine optimal torque settings for production assembly.
Identify opportunities for fastener communization and standardization.
Report fastener-related issues to management and work with suppliers to implement improvements and adopt new technologies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including line walks, serviceability enhancements, assembly time reduction, and cost reduction.
Facilitate mechanical joint and fastener reviews to identify opportunities for consistency, complexity reduction, and cost control.
Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines and resolve critical issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Fastener Engineering within the automotive OEM or supplier industry.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling.
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Knowledge and Skills:
Broad knowledge of vehicle systems, including powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exterior, and interior components and their associated fasteners.
Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015).
Proficiency in MS Office tools (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Passion for the automotive industry.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Outstanding attention to detail.
Physical capability to perform job duties.
