About the Job
The Fatherhood Advocate will be responsible for: advocating for positive father engagement in the lives of children; providing regular training, information and resources to adult, teen, and adolescent females about the role of fathers/father figures in the lives of children and families; establishing and maintaining relationships/partnerships with agencies and groups that serve mothers and families in the community; attending community events to promote Project FACT within the community; providing information and resources to empower fathers/father figures to become more involved in the lives of their children; and seeking access to new resources within the community that can be helpful to fathers/father figures.
Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):
- Conduct trainings using curricula and materials approved by Project FACT Program Manager.
- Assist Project FACT Program Manager in monitoring achievement of Project FACT performance outcomes.
- Prepare monthly progress reports to be presented to the Project FACT Program Manager/Advisory Board.
- Participate in ongoing professional development training, as assigned by the Project FACT Program Manager.
- Abide by and enforce Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County's rules and program guidelines.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Project FACT Program Manager.
- Limited weekend and evening duties required.
Relationships:
- Internal:Maintain close, daily contact with staff and supervisor to receive/provide information and discuss issues.
- External:Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools external staff and volunteers, mentors, and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- BA degree preferred or minimum of five (5) years' work experience in social work, education, youth development.
- Strong written and oral communicationskills.
- Highly motivated team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to theorganization.
- Abletoplan,schedule,organize,andfollowupontasksrelatedtothejobtoachievegoals within or ahead of established timeframes.
- Proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs.
- Ability to expeditiously prioritize and perform multiple taskssimultaneouslytoswiftlyassessasituation,determinealogicalcourseofaction,and apply the appropriateresponse.
- Valid Florida Driver's license with safe drivingrecord.
