This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Finance and Accounting.
Salary: $63,822.72 Annual Rate
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyzes, audits, maintains, and reconciles accounts to ensure compliance with requirements. Coordinates related accounting activities. Performs complex financial analysis. Analyzes and documents internal accounting and administrative controls. Analyzes and documents internal accounting procedures. Prepares analyses of programs. May prepare budgetary analysis or other financial reports by program area, appropriation, or fund for management. May audit or analyze complex financial statements and exhibits. Prepares reports.
+ This is a Team Lead accounting position responsible for the Disaster Recovery Section for the Department of Corrections. This position develops, updates, and implements procedures as needed for cost recovery of eligible expenditures.
+ Manages Disaster Recovery projects including gathering of expenditure data, coordinating data in the program areas, hosting and leading meetings with FEMA representatives and DEM, and other administrative tasks for maximization of reimbursements from damages occurred during a storm.
+ Serve as a project lead to ensure the goals and objectives of this bureau are accomplished. Assist with planning and routinely reviewing staff workloads. Train and assign personnel to various projects and ensure comprehensive supervision of work performed including review of work documentation.
+ Coordinate the preparation of reports and cost analysis as required by internal management and other stakeholders. Ensure that reported data is complete and accurate. Develop and maintain reporting systems reflecting status of eligible expenditures by project.
+ Manages project formulation in FEMA grants portal using the prescribed format. Ensure that eligible actual and estimated expenditures are identified and submitted timely to maximize cost recovery of funds. Develop and maintain reporting which identified status of identified and submitted expenditures. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of risk management proceeds.
+ Manages preparation of project time extensions, reimbursement requests and project closeouts in Florida PA. Analyze, audit, maintain and reconcile accounts to ensure compliance with reporting and submission requirements. Ensure documents are retained in accordance with Federal and State requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ High school diploma or its equivalent and one (1) year of disaster recovery experience OR:
+ A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, mathematics, business or one of the computer sciences and two (2) years of experience in accounting, auditing or in computer systems analysis which involves accounting or auditing data.
+ A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, mathematics, business or one of the computer sciences and one (1) year of experience in accounting, auditing or in computer systems analysis which involves accounting or auditing data.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Disaster recovery experience.
+ Project management experience.
