FDS Modeling Integration Specialist

Role Description:
The FDS Model Integration Specialist is responsible for developing and executing the approach to validate and integrate statistical models and machine learning algorithms into the FDS solution, including defining data requirements, and validating model output. Works with the team to support the FDS Test Plan. This plan outlines the project's testing activities to validate agile user stories, statistical models and machine learning algorithms, tables and application. The Model Integration Specialist efficiently communicates progress, while escalating any challenges or product defects and deficiencies to the project. The Model Integration Specialist also develops a rapport with FDS team members to ensure a comprehensive and robust integration plan. The successful candidate has a background in data and analytics lifecycle development and testing, and production support.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the FDS team to develop the plan to validate the statistical models and machine learning algorithms, system software, and data processing components
• Works with the team's statisticians to proper validate the team's models
• Organizes and executes the project's testing and validation efforts
• Works with the team to define quality metrics, standards and guidelines
• Communicates testing integration strategies and visions
• Notifies team managers when issues arise and tracks issues to conclusion
• Works with team member SMEs to develop the validation plan and ensure proper test coverage
• Coordinates with project managers and participates in project planning
• Educates other Engineers to establish project-specific best practices, where appropriate
• Comfortable explaining intersystem connectivity and data flows and data storage platforms such as relational databases and Hadoop
Minimum Required Skills/Experience:
• Strong background in data processing and storage and general technical skills
• Demonstrated proficiency with big data systems using Hadoop and provisioning data for multi-disciplinary teams
• 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting data centric systems
• 1 years of exposure to Big Data and Analytics Platforms using the Hadoop application stack
• Familiarity with analytic modeling tools such as R, SAS, or Python
• Strong Experience using SQL databases
• Knowledge of Agile methodology
• Knowledge of Java and component integration and techniques
• Ability to develop scripts to automate tasks
• Ability to trouble shoot problems and identify solutions
• Leadership: Takes ownership of work products. Works with relevant FDS team members to ensure testing tasks are completed.
• Organizational Skills: Proven ability to plan and prioritize work for both themselves and their team.
• Team Work: Ability to influence others and move a team toward a common vision or goal and maintain team interest. Comfortable working both individually and as part of a team. Prepared to challenge ideas within a group in a constructive way.
• Willingness to learn new skills and develop a deep understanding of data science and statistical modeling techniques
