Position Overview: Federal Financial Analyst
This role provides financial analysis support to a federal client. As the main point of contact between customers, vendors, the finance team, and acquisition departments, the ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in tracking and reconciling Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Payments within the telecommunications industry. Familiarity with the federal budget, procurement lifecycle, and accounting fundamentals is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expert use of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, formulas, pivot tables, data formatting, and linking), MS Access (importing data, creating reports, and running queries), and Adobe Acrobat PDF (designing forms, digitizing documents).
- Utilize financial systems for creating sales orders, purchase requests, tracking invoices and budgets, and generating reports.
- Data entry and corrections in financial systems.
- Perform reconciliation and funds tracking across multiple accounts (100+ orders), using reports and data from various financial systems.
- Consolidate receiving, paid, and earned amounts to generate accruals for 100+ orders.
- Collaborate with customers to analyze charges and facilitate fund collection as needed.
- Create and maintain official financial records and ensure proper archiving.
- Attend multiple weekly meetings (in-person and virtual), documenting meeting minutes and action items.
- Design standard and custom reports using MS Excel.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completion of all assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis, reconciliation, and data entry.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Ability to pass a government background investigation, including credit, criminal, and drug tests.
- Availability to work between core hours (8 AM - 3 PM EST).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- CPA, CGFM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
