Job Description: Come join Baker Tilly's Development & Community Advisory (DCA) team as a Senior Manager! You will be a part of our DCA Development Advisory team where you lead a team of consultants and subject matter experts in supporting client Federal Funding Compliance needs, primarily in the subject area of clean energy. You will work alongside and lead teams to provide a variety of grant, loan, and tax compliance advisory services including, but not limited to, pre and post award grant/loan administration, sub-recipient monitoring, effort reporting, export controls and conflicts of interest, as well as enterprise risk assessment and remediation of internal controls around grant accounting processes related to the pre and post award administration of federal awards. Additionally, you will work with organizations to support sponsored program design, cost allowability, compliance issues, business process and organizational design, and internal audit. What you will do: * Lead in the interpretation of CFRs governing compliance needs for client's who have recei ed federal dollars * Review client capabilities, policies, and procedures and conduct gap analyses providing direction on next steps to ensure compliant projects and programs * Support in policy development for clients where gaps have been identified * Supervise quality and pace of the activities and tasks performed by Consultants under your direction * Conduct research on regulatory guidance, current industry standards and trends, new legislation and requirements and summarize for public release * Manage the collection of client data and information to document clients' business and financial processes, risks and controls * Perform root cause analysis, providing data and information that will inform recommendations and solutions * Work independently with clients and on team projects and manage deadlines * Draft memos and other reports to explain team findings and observations * Monitor project progress and risks, ensuring engagement leads are updated on progress and expected outcomes * Lead the creation and/or completion of deliverable templates, compiling and analyzing of data, development of reports, and review of results developed by Consultants * Work with Baker Tilly's digital solutions team to build customized tools (web based portals, automated reporting systems, etc.) for client and market specific needs * Work with Baker Tilly's clean energy subject matter experts to bridge technical requirements of projects funded with Federal dollars with overall program compliance requirements and needs. * Provide mentoring and coaching to Consultants, to include governmental accounting and/or internal control concepts and methodologies * Identify opportunities to enhance and improve project and engagement deliverables and outcomes * Assist in creating client business, financial and risk / internal controls documentation by developing portions of the documentation and supervising the compilation and developments of reports * Manage the collection of client financial and operational data for weekly / monthly and ad hoc reporting * Manage the execution and delivery of engagement specific tasks as directed * Demonstrate the ability to effectively negotiate priorities across multiple groups/teams Successful candidates will meet the following requirements: * A Bachelor's degree within business, finance or accounting. MBA/MPA desirable but not a requirement * A minimum of 10+ plus years of internal or external auditing, including at least five (5) years serving as a project manager and at least three (3) years in consulting * In-depth understanding of US Federal funding compliance requirements and practices * Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) required * Experience building financial models incorporating income statements and cash flows to support business decisions * Experience with core financial processes (e.g. monthly close, financial reporting) * Experience with developing reporting or data analytics * Exceptional oral and written communication, collaboration, and time management skills * Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties The compensation range for this role is $179,850 to $389,680. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
