We are partnered with a large Ag operation that is dedicated to providing high-quality care for their livestock while ensuring efficient operations. They pride themselves on thier commitment to sustainable farming practices and animal welfare. They are currently seeking a motivated Yard Worker to join their team and contribute to their mission.
Position Overview:
As a Yard Worker, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of their large-scale feed yard. You would be walking pens, sorting off sick animals, adhering to vaccine protocols and bunk scoring.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working on beef or dairy farms, as well as familiarity with Total Mixed Ration (TMR) feeding and bunk scoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily feeding and care of cattle.
- Operate and maintain feeding equipment, including TMR mixers.
- Conduct bunk scoring to assess feed quality and cattle consumption.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the feed yard and livestock facilities.
- Monitor animal health and report any issues to management.
- Collaborate with team members to improve feed efficiency and overall yard operations.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working on a beef or dairy farm.
- Familiarity with TMR feeding and bunk scoring practices.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for animal care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical skills to operate and maintain equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
