This position is eligible for Mid Atlantic Retina's $1,000 Hiring Incentive! The hired candidate will receive $500 after successful completion of 90 days of employment and $500 after successful completion of 1 year of employment! Available to new hires only- not available to agency hires, internal transfers, or re-hires.

Qualifications
- Must have experience in graduate medical education and/or physician credentialing, including areas such as provider enrollment, privileging, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards for healthcare providers.
- Must possess a strong understanding of maintaining compliance across multiple departments, managing credentialing data, and coordinating with various stakeholders to support efficient onboarding and credentialing processes for Fellowship Program.
- 2 years of experience performing secretarial or administrative duties in a healthcare setting, specifically supporting physicians or healthcare providers.
Job Description
The Credentialing Specialist ensures that physicians are enrolled in and maintain active credentialing status.
Essential Functions
- Prepares initial and recredentialing applications for Mid Atlantic Retina physicians.
- Maintains all physician credentialing, CVs, and vaccination records.
- Follows up and tracks provider applications mailed to payors. This includes calling payors regarding the status of mailed applications as well as keeping notes as the application progresses until the provider number is obtained.
- Maintains and understands Managed Care Plan policies and procedures with regards to physician credentialing and enrollment.
- Works with health plan contacts to update / change provider information and to resolve issues.
- Maintains data integrity of physician and practice information outside of credentialing database.
- Maintains data for weekly update reports.
- Enters comments and/or provider numbers in reports in a timely manner.
- Compiles, reviews, links and scans all documents to files in a timely basis.
- Regular and predictable on-site attendance required.
- Works overtime as needed.
- Travels to other MAR locations as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
