Fetal Medicine Sonographer - Fetal Center Clinic (Contingent)

Schedules, and performs independent sonographic images of maternal-fetal conditions, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images.

• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
• Thoroughly understand the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilize new technologies.
• Self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the sonography field.
• Self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the sonography field.
• Assists when necessary with the maintenance of accreditation requirements and processes.
• Reports and calls in-service requests on equipment when needed.
• Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Education Requirement:

• Satisfactory completion of an accredited ultrasound training program to include registry, required.

Licensure Requirement:

• ARDMS - OB-GYN, and Within 2 years: pediatric echo (PE), fetal echo (FE), required.

Certifications:

• NT; NB; BLS; *May obtain within 6 months of hire date.

Skills:

• Communication, organizational; interpersonal relations; Independent problem solving.

Experience:

• Two years of experience in OB high risk or MFM setting, required.
• One year of experience performing pediatric and maternal fetal echocardiography or willingness to acquire PE, and FE registry within 2 years from hire date, preferred.
