Our group is looking for a highly motivated Performance Engineer to optimize software design for Apple’s latest products, including the next generation of Apple Watch, AirPods, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.DescriptionAs a key member of Connectivity Firmware Performance team you will work on software design, testing and optimization from early prototypes until productization! The work involves devising performance evaluation methodologies on SW/HW prototypes, analyzing logs, and making recommendations for implementing in software based on trade-off analysis at a system & product level.
Minimum QualificationsStrong understanding in one of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, or related protocolsBackground or research experience in RF, Digital, and Wireless communicationsExperience working with wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers to debug and root cause issuesExperience with Python for testing, data analysis, and visualizationKnowledge of TCP/IP protocol suiteBS Electrical engineering, Computer engineering, Software engineering, or Computer SciencePreferred QualificationsExperience with power, performance trade-off analysisExperience with CPU profiling and optimizationsProgramming in C or C++ is a plusMS or PhD is a plusApproach problems flexibly, adjusting strategies as needed for practical solutions.Focus on priorities and drive efforts toward achieving results.Stay curious, continually seeking to learn and improve processes.Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role
The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs
Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan
