About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst with a strong background in the Department of Defense (DoD) Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) process. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of logistics operations and be adept at supporting process improvements and policy updates related to government audits. This role will support a key government customer on the APA contract by ensuring that financial and logistical processes meet audit standards, identifying gaps, and helping the customer improve audit-readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level FIAR support to assist the customer in achieving audit compliance.
- Analyze and review financial data related to logistics operations, ensuring adherence to DoD audit requirements.
- Work closely with government personnel to develop, refine, and implement financial policies that improve audit outcomes.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend solutions to streamline financial and logistical audit processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial documents and reports for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with the customer to ensure continuous process improvement and readiness for audits.
- Advise on audit controls, financial data integrity, and compliance issues.
- Provide training and guidance to government staff on FIAR-related matters as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in DoD Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR).
- Strong understanding of logistics operations within a DoD environment.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting government audits and process improvements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify compliance issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to advise and collaborate with government customers.
- Experience in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures related to audits.
- Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of DoD logistics and supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with government contract financial management systems.
- Proven ability to improve processes and policies in an audit context.
