About the Job
GAC Enterprises, LLC, a leading telecommunications construction company, is seeking a Fiber foreman to join our team in Greensboro, NC. As a foreman, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure. This is a physically demanding role that requires working at heights, operating specialized equipment, and adhering to safety protocols. This position requires an excellent working knowledge of telecommunications construction, and familiarity with aerial lift devices, utility lines, poles, and the functionality of each. In addition, a successful lineman will possess the ability to identify and troubleshoot effectively. This is an hourly plus production position.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications lines, cables, and equipment
- Climb and work on poles, towers, and other structures to install or repair equipment
- Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment such as bucket trucks and cable pullers
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve network issues
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project completion
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Knowledge of setup, use, and breakdown of capstan fiber pulling equipment.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a Telecom Lineman or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, equipment, and installation methods
- Experience operating specialized tools and equipment
- Excellent physical fitness and the ability to work at heights
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams
- Excellent computer proficiency
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
- High school diploma or G.E.D. (Preferred)
- Valid Driver's License (Required), CDL Class A or Class B (Preferred)
- D.O.T. Med card (Preferred)
- OSHA10 & 30 Certifications (Preferred)
- Ability to operate the bucket and climb poles (Preferred)
Workplace & Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, as well as in all weather conditions and rugged terrains
