Job Duties and Responsibilities:As a 5G ORAN Field Engineer, you’ll be out in the field keeping our facilities and equipment in top form by maintaining multiple locations in your assigned area. You will be in charge of post construction checks, single site verification, commissioning, site acceptance, testing and maintaining cell sites and edge and local data center installations. You will also be evaluating our network coverage and finding ways to make it even better.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on cell site equipment.
- Deploy CU-CP and CU-UP functions using VMWare Telco Cloud, troubleshooting configuration issues.
- Inspect site cabinets, validate breaker placement, and confirm GPS/backhaul fiber connections.
- Perform single-site verification for VSWR, PIM, RET, and antenna positioning issues.
- Collaborate with RF, microwave, and transport teams to troubleshoot integration and commissioning.
- Maintain inventory records, resolve network tickets, and ensure compliance with DISH installation standards.
Education and Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in telecommunications with direct experience in RAN, 4G LTE cell site troubleshooting, and testing
- A technical degree in Electronics or Telecommunications or a combination of military and industry experience will be considered
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in testing protocols for transport, RF, base-station turn-up, and fiber integration.
- Experience troubleshooting antenna systems, optimizing base station equipment, and using tools like spectrum analyzers.
- Expertise in PIM, VSWR, MIMO, and RET, with knowledge of fiber and LTE remote radio heads.
- Experience with base station equipment from Lucent, Nokia, Samsung, and Ericsson, and dark/lit fiber testing.
- Familiar with telecom systems (T1, DACS) and DC power distribution (Galaxy, Alpha).
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to travel up to 75% with flexible work hours.

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
