Role Summary:
Axalta is seeking Field Engineers to join its Process Technology team. The successful candidates for this job will become a key member of the Global Process Technology team.
The primary responsibility of this position is to advance fundamental understanding and execution of the scale-up and alignment processes in support of Axalta's growth and lean initiatives. This position also has the responsibility to develop or improve coating process technologies and formulations. The focus will be on resins, dispersions, paint, coatings, finished product scale-up, manufacturing support, and overall process improvement. This includes the use of various measurement techniques to quantify paint properties and understanding the relationship between key product attributes and critical process factors from the laboratory to the commercial scale.
Locations:
The Field Engineer Program consists of two rotations of 24 months each in one of the following locations:
A third and final rotation would then be the candidates' full time location.

- Mount Clemens, MI;
- Front Royal, VA;
- High Point, NC;
- Fort Madison, IA;
- Houston, TX;
- Huntsville, AL
- Philadelphia, PA.
A third and final rotation would then be the candidates' full time location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Become a technical resource and interface between teams to support projects in Operations and Technology.
- Collaborate with R&D formulators to scale up and align products.
- Participate in manufacturing forum to support and/or troubleshoot plant process and quality issues.
- Interact with Axalta personnel in the business and operations functions on a routine basis.
- Function as key contact on teams related to quality, management of change, or others.
- Optimize manufacturing processes for Axalta by generating improvement ideas, designing, and performing experiments in laboratory and pilot scales and implementing recommendations at plant scale.
- Lead technicians, organize workflow including setting and meeting deadlines, and adhere to core values including safe work practices.
Basic Qualifications :
- Recent graduate, MSc/BSc in Chemical Engineering.
- Authorized to work in the US for any employer without need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to relocate for the three consecutive rotations.
- Demonstrated ability to work and contribute to a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective written and oral communication.
- Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of designed experimentation and statistical data analysis.
- Experience using programming languages (ex. Python) for data science preferred.
