Job Summary:
Under the guidance of HR Leadership, the Field HR Business Partner (HRBP) works closely with business leaders and managers to align local HR practices with Mid-State business goals and strategic initiatives. The HRBP fosters an environment of employee engagement while ensuring compliance with company policy and procedures and legal and regulatory obligations. Responsibilities also include a wide range of HR Generalist duties to include but not limited to time and attendance, HRIS inputs, onboarding, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships in the community and surrounding areas to develop a strong candidate pipeline from local schools, career centers and other sources.
- Support the corporate recruitment process, by working with local hiring managers to ensure effective candidate flow from application/resume review, interview, offer and candidate disposition.
- Facilitate the onboarding process to include background screening, onboarding, and integration into the company HRIS and time keeping systems and MVRs on new hires and manager requested drivers.
- Perform new hire orientation ensuring targeted policies, procedures and benefits are clearly communicated and all required paperwork is completed.
- Ensure compliance with I-9 requirements and E-Verify processes.
- Maintain employee personnel files in accordance with department guidelines. Create and / or update various checklists to ensure key tasks are being accomplished within required time limits and communicate updates timely.
- Timekeeping: Work with local managers to ensure daily and weekly timekeeping records area maintained and accurately reported to corporate payroll and billing.
- Foster a positive and engaging work environment through proactive communication and problem solving.
- Performance Management: Support managers in setting and communicating performance expectations, delivering performance feedback, and addressing performance issues.
- Partner with local leadership and corporate HR team in continuous improvement discussions, initiatives and / or projects; bring up opportunities for improvement and offer workable solutions.
- Support employees with routine questions and/or concerns such as payroll, benefits, data changes, etc.
- Participate in regular HR team meetings and perform tasks involved with completing assignments from the HR Action Rail (Roling Action Item List).
- Process Employee terminations in ADP and Exaktime and notify appropriate managers and IT personnel.
- All other duties as assigned and customary.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in HR or related field. Combination of Experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience:
5+ years of progressing experience in Human Resources.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of HR Best practices, employment laws and regulations.
- This position has access to sensitive information. Must always be honest and ethical and operate with a high-level of integrity. Must recognize the importance of confidentiality and maintain confidential information, without exception.
- Excel skills and skilled with other Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, Teams.
- Strong Communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work cross functionally.
Work Environment:
- Office environment in a machining/fabrication facility.
Physical Requirements:
- Talk/Hear: Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in presentations, meetings and one-one dialogues.
- Stand/Sit: The person in this position must be able to sit or stand in one position to use a computer for extended periods of time.
- Walk: Must be able to walk or move about an office environment well enough to engage and interact with others and access files and supplies. May infrequently be required to traverse shop work locations which includes moving about varying terrains and elevations.
- Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Frequentlyoperates a computer to perform general office duties.
- Climb: Seldom may need to climb stairs to meet with other managers.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: May occasionally need to stoop, kneel or crawl to access files, and or supplies.
- See: The person in this position must see well enough to frequently use a computer and review written documents.
- Carry, weight, Lift: Must be able to carry up to 10lbs on a regular basis to carry laptop and other essential business items.
