A Day in the Life:
The Field Operations Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the operation of all radio and electronic communications equipment within the company, with a primary focus on the Field Dispatch team. The Field Operations Coordinator will assist the Field Dispatch & Fleet Supervisor in the complex needs of the Field team's fleet of vehicles, including the trailers for the Emergency Response Team. They will also ensure department operations run smoothly by assuming a lead role to optimize efficiency and support the team.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma / GED
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Minimum 5 years' experience with radio communications and electronic equipment maintenance, including advanced programming and repair.
- Minimum 5 years' dispatch experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in the shelter, preferably on the Field Operations team.
- Must have knowledge of map reading and directions.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and functionality of all radio communications equipment at AHS.
- Troubleshoot electronic equipment specific to the Field team and coordinate with the AHS IT and Maintenance team in a professional manner to ensure continuous and effective operation.
- Be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of Field Dispatchers and Field Volunteers, filling in for shifts when needed.
- Support the Field Dispatch & Fleet Supervisor in the training of new dispatchers.
- Consult regularly with Field Leadership regarding work schedules, staffing concerns, department procedures, performance evaluations, and corrective action per AHS guidelines.
- Provide assistance to the Field Dispatch & Fleet Supervisor in fleet management including equipment installations, minor repairs, and logistical coordination.
- Assist with keeping all training materials up to date and in line with the expectations of the AHS mission statements.
- Cross train with the Field Administrative Assistant and Field Associates to assist with workload when needed.
- Ride along with field staff as scheduled by the leadership team for assistance with complex calls, Large Scale Intake of animals, and for morale boosting of the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds to a height of four feet.
