Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to lead the field team and activities for a large-scale residential energy efficiency program in Michigan. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in managing a field team and a strong understanding of energy efficiency for residential and multi-family sectors. This role requires significant experience in home and building assessments, quality assurance and quality control processes, and supervising a field team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Embrace and operate within the core values.
- Lead the field team for a large-scale residential energy efficiency program in Michigan.
- Support field team members in multiple locations conducting field operations (including assessments and QA/QC) with troubleshooting, customer issues, and logistics.
- Provide technical assistance and oversight to team members.
- Develop field operations and procedures and manage workflow/processes.
- Provide direct supervision, support, and training to team members.
- Facilitation of internal and external field operations meetings with partners and clients.
- Review field data and track progress vs. metrics to program management on a regular basis.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as a resource for program and department team members on comprehensive and detailed assignments, including field activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, finance, and marketing, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of applicable experience (field operations, team management, and assessments, QA/QC), in lieu of an associate's degree.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of applicable experience (field operations, team management, and assessments, QA/QC).
- Proven ability to manage the field activities of a large-scale program successfully.
- Strong understanding of energy efficiency principles, practices, and technologies for residential and multi-family buildings, and an understanding of electrification projects and initiatives.
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in field operations in the energy efficiency sector in Michigan.
Licenses & Certifications:
- BPI Building Science Principles Certification, preferred.
- Envelope Professional Certification, preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Willing to travel (within Michigan) at least 50% of the time.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
- The team member is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Noise level is typically low to moderate.
