Vector offers many opportunities for career promotions and pay increases. The person in this position will support the Area Safety Manager (ASM) in implementation and management of the HSE program.

- Responsible for maintenance of safety documentation and records.
- Support the ASM in safety efforts and strategy through multiple channels.
- Have positive present solutions when presenting problems. Be a part of the solution.
- Perform area and job site level audits based on event trending, lagging/leading indicators, and safety needs identified with ASM or another department senior manager.
- Coordinate injury management through Workman’s Compensation Manager and assist in establishing area injury management resources and relationship building as assigned by the ASM.
- Provide safety leadership and promote a positive safety culture as assigned.
- Participate in safety audits across the organization and coordinate corrective action feedback to the ASM and operations management.
- Review weekly Ops Reports for safety planning purposes with ASM.
- Assist with training instruction and scheduling as directed by the ASM.
- May assist with/lead special projects as assigned related to organization-wide related safety matters.
- Assist with root cause identification, investigations, and case management within the assigned area, also including field audits, new hire orientation, and coaching.
- Complete a monthly expense report for the company Purchasing card. Shall spend within set departmental guidelines. Submit Purchase Card activity monthly to the ASM.
- Coordinate, manage and respond to OSHA agency-level audits as directed by the ASM or other departments senior managers.
- Shall ensure timely notifications for serious events are made to ASM.
- All other assigned responsibilities by the ASM or other assigned department senior manager.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

- You have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years construction, traffic control, vacuum truck, and/or sewer inspection experience required.
- OSHA 30 Hour Training.
- You have a clear current state driver’s license. Demonstrates safe driving behaviors.
- You pass pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug tests, includes marijuana.
- Able to pass a background check.
- On-call 24/7 or as assigned after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- You have Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Computer skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all company incident files and all required documentation in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Can maintain professional interaction, appearances, and communication within all levels of the organization.
- You are a resourceful problem-solver, with a positive can-do attitude and provide excellent customer service.
- You have the ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work autonomously with little supervision.
- Ability to regularly work near moving traffic and machines and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, and effectively jump, sprint, or throw an object.
- Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands), and multi-limb coordination.
- The noise level is generally loud.
- Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
- This position requires the ability to occasionally lift to 50 pounds.
- Must be able for extended periods to perform any of the following: stand, walk, jog, climb, kneel, squat, bend at the waist, grasp, and hold various tools and objects with both hands.
