Overview
Under the Director of Learning & Development, the Field Sales Trainer is essential for training and developing New Hire and Experienced Sales Associates at Allied Beverage Group. This role involves leading New Hire Field Sales Training and Allied Selling Sales Training Programs, conducting engaging in-class sessions, and providing on-the-job coaching to help participants succeed. Key responsibilities include analyzing and enhancing existing training programs, developing training materials (decks, videos, job aids), and offering feedback to participants. The Trainer will also engage with the Commercial Team through Sales Meetings and Supplier Trainings.
As part of the Learning & Development Department, the Field Sales Trainer supports initiatives like the Building Leaders Coaching Program and Lunch & Learn events. Additionally, the role allows for creating a customized Talent Development Plan in collaboration with the Director of Learning & Development, aimed at enhancing skills and professional networking.
Responsibilities
- Field-based Training and Coaching Days – Work with Sales Associates in market 3 days per week to train and/or coach with the purpose of elevating knowledge and developing skills.
- New Hire Sales Training and Feedback Reporting – Facilitate New Hire Sales Training Programs and complete recaps to provide feedback to program participants, managers and the Learning & Development team.
- Sales Training Program Leadership & Facilitation – Lead and facilitate training sessions and/or breakouts for Sales Training Programs.
- L&D Program Support & Professional Development – Support L&D Programs and Initiatives. Complete training, stretch assignments and/or mentoring/coaching to elevate knowledge and skills and stay current on trends in training and skill set development
- Needs Assessments & Cross-Functional Communication – Identify needs and/or opportunities to elevate current sales training programs or create new programs or modules
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Valid driver's license
- Strong understanding of sales processes; knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry and New Jersey wine & spirits market preferred
- Required experience in sales, field marketing, or account management; route or territory sales in wine & spirits preferred
- Required experience in training or facilitation; experience in consumer products or beverage alcohol training preferred
- Experience creating and delivering training in various formats (in-person, virtual, blended) preferred
- Management or coaching experience a plus; one-on-one coaching preferred
- Experience with LMS platforms a plus
- Leadership qualities: integrity, confidence, people-oriented, self-motivated, effective time management, analytical skills, and strong communication skills
- Training & Coaching: content creation, presentation, and facilitation skills; strong interpersonal and active listening abilities
- Technical skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, SuccessFactors) and virtual conferencing tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom) preferred; CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva) a plus
- Certifications: Training/Teaching or Facilitation certification preferred; Coaching certification a plus; WSET Level 2 (or higher) in Wine and/or Spirits a plus
