Overview:

TRC is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Engineer for our Ambient Air Monitoring group in the Rock Hill, SC area.

 

TRC is one of the world's largest providers of air quality consulting services. Our offerings include ambient air quality monitoring, meteorological monitoring, source testing, permitting, dispersion modeling, performance guarantee testing, and expert testimony. With more than 250 air quality scientists and engineers operating from a network of over 30 offices, TRC's Air Quality team offers unparalleled breadth and depth of air quality consulting, monitoring and testing capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Specific job responsibilities and work activities will potentially include all the following:

• Operation, repair and routine maintenance of monitoring equipment currently in use at a project site located near Rock Hill, SC.
• Calibration of sampling equipment in accordance with manufacturer's and TRC procedures.
• Equipment troubleshooting on an as-needed basis.
• Conduct field measurements of VOCs, H₂S and other air pollutants.
• Accurate completion of data sheets, calibration records, chain of custody forms, and all other documentation required.
• Data compilation and processing including the use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
• Strict adherence to site Health and Safety procedures as described in the H&S Plan.
• Candidate must recognize data discrepancies and resolve technical/mechanical/electronic problems associated with errant data.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and have good communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Candidate must complete site-specific training courses.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-year of experience in the sampling of air pollutants in ambient air and/or indoor air. This experience should include prior participation in environmental monitoring programs in a field setting, data review and validation, and reporting.
• Knowledge of and experience with air sampling and monitoring equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Environmental Science/Engineering, or other related field.
• Candidate should have basic knowledge of electronics and instrumentation.
• Candidate must recognize data discrepancies and resolve technical/mechanical/electronic problems associated with errant data.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and have good communication skills (both written and verbal).
• A valid driver's license.
• Candidates must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen and motor vehicle records check, and client required drug and background checks.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

 

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
