Hamilton Company is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Robotics team, supporting, repairing and maintaining robotic instrumentation. The ideal candidate will live and work in the field to support the Boston, MA territory.
As a Field Service Engineer with Hamilton Company you will be tasked with providing high quality customer support through instrument installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, test, and repair Hamilton equipment.
- Manage engineering projects as assigned.
- Conduct site inspections.
- Mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and evaluate environmental impact.
- Ensure on-site efficiency and safety at all times.
- Estimate costs, approve project designs, and prepare contracts.
- Routinely install, maintain and perform root cause failure analysis on complex automation systems that range from $50,000 to $2,000,000 USD.
- Support custom automation platform designed and built to customer specifications.
- Regularly commute to and from customer sites with ability to navigate within the region. Must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring on-time arrival at customer site.
- Ability to problem-solve utilizing solid technical knowledge.
- A high desire for quality.
- Demonstrated experience working in the field as well as corporate setting.
- Ability to train non-technical personnel on highly technical material.
- Ability and willingness to work in a safety conscious manner necessary due to potential hazardous chemicals and biologicals.
- Ability to learn new robotic operating systems.
- The FSE must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License and successfully complete a motor vehicle history check.
Education:
- Engineering degree from a regionally accredited, not-for-profit university.
Experience:
- Experience in technical field service and working with customers in the life science, clinical, or pharmaceutical field is preferred.
- Experience in automation or similar field is required.
- Being fluent in English, both written and spoken, is required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move approximately 60 lbs.
