About the Job
Position Overview
The Field Service Engineer performs a variety of activities servicing Dynisco Polymer Test instruments, including but not limited to:
Calibrations to ASTM/ISO standards per ISO 17025, system installations, equipment troubleshooting, emergency repairs, routine maintenance, and basic operator training of Dynisco analytical equipment at customer facilities.
The Field Service Engineer also acts as a liaison between our customers and appropriate Dynisco personnel such as inside sales and regional sales managers, and consistently provides a high level of customer service by providing on-time, quality service, while proactively reporting current and possible future equipment issues in a timely manner to the customer.
The Field Service Engineer is accountable for aftermarket equipment reliability, proper resource allocation, work order scheduling, updating WO status in Dynamics CRM, providing customer satisfaction, profitability, prompt and accurate reports and maintaining "trunk" inventory levels. He/she promotes the sales of consumables, parts and other Dynisco products, and encourages the customer to sustain maintenance practices such as routine cleaning before and after operation.

Essential Job Functions
- Ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained including industry safety practices established by customer at the customers facility.
- Contributing to the business financial targets with emphasis on revenue contributions and profit generated from service, accessories, instruments and the sale of parts.
- Providing quality service on-time by scheduling all assigned service activities (i.e., installations, warranty, repair, calibration, and emergency calls etc.)
- Is responsible for making travel arrangements that are economically considerate to the company, while conforming to policy.
- Ensuring high level of technical knowledge and skill in order to promote new service accounts as well as maintaining existing accounts.
- Supporting the area sales manager and the business by maintaining professional business ethics and ensuring customers are treated with efficiency, courtesy, and respect.
- Ensuring all paperwork, i.e. itineraries, service call reports, expense reports, and tracking reports are completed in accordance with Dynisco procedures.
- Maintaining accurate levels of inventory either as service spares inventory or shipped to the FSE at the customer sites for repair of customer products.
- Complying with all ISO established procedures, which includes maintaining up-to-date ISO 9001 documentation.
- Ensures continuous improvement as it relates to customer satisfaction by reporting issues, attending weekly meetings, suggesting improvements in practices or procedures used by the service department.
- May assist in training or overseeing other service engineers or service activities.
Requirements
- This is a field-based position. No regions are inferred or guaranteed.
- Able to travel daily, including overnight travel by automobile or air as needed.
- Travel domestically and possibly international.
- Travel is based on customer requirements or company needs.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electronics or instrumentation.
- Five to ten years' experience working as a field engineer
- Prior work experience in electronics, computer science or related field.
- Prior experience with software - Windows, database management, networking, etc.
- Must demonstrate an aptitude for learning in the field, and adapting to challenges when they arise.

- Demonstrated effective communication skills - written, oral and inter-personal
- Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline traits
- Ability to deal with a wide range of individuals
- Must have Microsoft Office Experience - Excel, Word and Outlook
- Prior experience with installing and removing software - Windows, database management, networking, troubleshooting, etc..
