Title: Field Service Engineer - Commissioning
Location: Houston, TX
Shift or Travel: First Shift (M-F) / travel can be up to 50% - 75%+ as needed. Can be onsite for up to three weeks at a time.
Compensation: $90k - $95K base DOEQ w/ OT, annualized bonus, and equity. No relocation provided.

Position Description:
The Field Service Engineer will lead the efforts to ensure company energy storage systems are installed, commissioned, and operating as designed both domestically and internationally. In addition, the Field Service Engineer provides customer support and training, and works closely with system integration and manufacturing engineering to improve operations and reliability of the system.
Responsibilities:
--- Provide on-site installation support.
--- Create or revise system, customer-facing, and internal commissioning documentation.
--- Execute and ensure commissioning procedures and test protocols related to DC system and battery management system are followed and documented during commissioning.
--- Perform testing on DC system and battery management system.
--- Provide support for testing of complete system including BMS interface with AC system.
--- Evaluate battery performance, including testing, of fielded systems.
--- Collecting information and participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for any failures of fielded systems or components.
--- Document test results, check lists and potential issues raising from commissioning or trouble shooting of systems.
--- Take lead on customer interfacing for new projects and warranty claims. Work closely with the Sales and Systems
Engineering teams to ensure seamless transition from contract to close out.
--- Support System Integration team, testing and proving circuitry and protection related to the operation of large DC y
systems.
--- Improving and optimizing aggregation and safety hardware.
--- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Requirements:
--- At least 4+ years of hands-on technical troubleshooting experience in a field service-based function that can be applied to energy storage service and operations
--- Previous experience performing install and commissioning of complex electrical systems is strongly preferred
--- Experience in applied problem-solving methodology
--- Knowledge using data acquisition tools, data logging, metering and electrical instrumentation.
--- Electrical safety training, NFPA70E or similar
--- Medium Voltage/ Substation experience preferred
Abilities:
--- Ability to work independently, and proactively with minimal supervision
--- Ability to communicate challenges in a forthright and accurate manner
--- Solid Computer skills: Windows, Office, Programming (PLC, controls experience a plus)
--- Awareness of electrical, crane, forklift and construction work safety.
--- Understanding of DC Electrical systems and controls.
--- Knowledge using data acquisition tools, data logging, metering and electrical instrumentation.
--- Exceptional communication skills: ability to lead by example and through influence
--- Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work at field installations for up to three weeks at a time.
--- Ability to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequently
--- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
--- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code
