Work for an established family-owned business repairing and maintaining shopping carts. OMNI Cart Services, Inc. was founded over 40 years ago in Northeast Ohio. Since then, we've been expanding our operations, including employing associates in 11 different states across the U.S. Our Service Technicians clean, inspect, and repair shopping carts and other backroom equipment for supermarkets and retail stores. We are known for our quality work and excellent customer service and are looking for individuals who will be a part of our team and maintain our standards.
OMNI Cart Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable, hard-working individual to join our team as a Field Service Foreman in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. The job is done outdoors and requires the minimum physical requirements listed below. Repairs include: Straightening frames, inspecting and replacing wheels, seat belts, and other parts, and MIG welding (we will train). Cleaning is done with a pressure washing system. Complete on-the-job training is provided by OMNI Cart Services, Inc.
Wage Information: Average starting wages (including hourly pay, overtime, and bonuses) can range between $62,000 to $65,000 per year, based on the hourly pay of $18.00 to $19.00 per hour and our generous quarterly bonus program that averages $2,700 per quarter. This is an hourly paid position.
Standard Operating Hours: Starting at 5 AM, Monday through Friday (no weekends). Based on the nature of our business, this position must be comfortable with working early mornings and willing to work frequent overtime (averaging 50 hours a workweek).
Travel Requirements: Approximately two weeks of overnight travel per month is required for this position, in our company vehicle (no weekends). Travel expenses are paid and a meal stipend is provided each hotel night.
Core Responsibilities include:
• Repairs include straightening frames, inspecting and replacing wheels and other parts, and MIG welding (we will train you!),
• Moving and turning carts weighing from 25 to 40 lbs.
• Supervising technicians and projects on each job site, while ensuring all service tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
Minimum qualifications:
• Basic mechanical skills and an interest in working with hands and tools.
• Previous experience in mechanics, repairs, and/or welding is preferred but not required.
• Previous successful employment, including at least 3 years with one employer.
• 1-3 years of prior supervisory experience is required.
• Ability to speak and read basic English. Able to follow instructions and work independently or closely with another person.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs. (lifting tools and parts as needed), handling tools, crouching, and bending.
• Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions and different cities.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and your Operations Manager.
• Organizational and record-keeping skills.
