Field Service Installation Technician (MEP, LEP, VACIS)

Location: Vista, CA
Position: Full-time (90% Travel)
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizens Only

Position Overview

We are seeking Field Service Installation Technicians to join our team in Vista, CA. This role involves extensive fieldwork, primarily focused on the installation and troubleshooting of:

• Mid-Energy Portals (MEP)
• Low Energy Portals (LEP)
• Vehicle and Cargo Inspection Systems (VACIS)

You will travel to customer sites across the U.S. and internationally, working mainly at border crossings and ports of entry. Flexibility is essential, as workdays will vary based on assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• System Installation: Install and commission MEP, LEP, VACIS, and Radiation Portal Monitor systems.
• Technical Support: Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
• Documentation: Read and interpret electrical schematics and assembly documents.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively and professionally with customers.
• Project Goals: Meet weekly installation targets and support engineering during Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Tool Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment.

Must-Have Skills

• Ability to read and follow assembly documents.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics.
• Basic navigation of Windows applications.
• High School Diploma required.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems using wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with software loading and integration.

Work Environment

• Primarily based in the Vista facility with fieldwork at border crossings and ports of entry.
• Must be adaptable to both plant work and travel installations.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus.
