Responsibilities:The Field Service Tech I – Biomed provides medical equipment services under supervision of BSI management. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, performing preventive maintenance inspections, installation support, testing, calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance on hospital equipment such as; maintenance support on general medical equipment, as needed. Collaborates and maintains positive relationships with customers and hospital staff & Administration. He/she is also responsible for the day to day operations that may also include; ensuring service documentation is complete, accurate and timely entered into the BSI work order management system, providing assistance to all other levels of technicians/engineers as needed in regards to trouble shooting repairs, willingness to be available for after hour service calls as directed by Manager, and representing BSI in front-line leadership tasks such as, but not limited to, Environment of care meetings/rounds.

Qualifications:EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 0-3 years’ experience servicing medical equipment.
2. Ability to travel 100% of the time.
3. Knowledge of TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA, other applicable standards and regulations required.
4. High degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity.
5. Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
6. Strong written and verbal communications skills
7. Strong computer skills (MS Office, Clinical applications, CMMS systems).
8. Knowledge of principles and practices of electronics and biomedical engineering technology as applied to the calibration and repair of biomedical equipment.
9. Ability to troubleshoot, read schematics and/or blue prints.
10. OEM training certificates in specialty medical equipment preferred.
11. Field related technical certifications (like A+, CBET, CRES or CLES) preferred.
12. Valid driver’s license required.
13. Ideal candidate would be a quick-learner, open to working under challenges and able to project the needed confidence to carry out required tasks independently
