This position requires a valid Class E driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department's Drivers Record Requirements Policy. An unacceptable driving record is defined as any of the following:
+ three (3) or more moving violations in the past 3 years that accumulate 3 or more points per violation;
+ any 2 convictions of reckless driving in the past 3 years;
+ a suspension or revocation of the driver license for moving violations in the past 3 years; and
+ a suspension or revocation for refusal to take a sobriety test, or any suspension or revocation for a DUI conviction in the past 4 years
Your driving record will be reviewed and the status of your driver license confirmed.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Determines equipment malfunctions to locate the source of trouble based on system monitoring and inbound request for service support or make repairs and adjustments.
Performs repairs and completes maintenance at toll plazas when required. Performs onsite equipment repair activities as may be requested. Performs preventative maintenance, this involves frequent inspection of basic elements of the equipment, cleaning switches, connectors, relay contacts, and adjusting printers and other equipment. Lifts and handles heavy equipment for repair and maintenance to include coin vaults, vault frames, or Ticket Manufacturing Transports, etc. as per maintenance procedures.
Completes Maintenance Action Forms (MAF), Preventative Maintenance Action Forms (PAF), and Shop Action Forms (SAF) as required. These reports ensure that preventative maintenance records for toll equipment components are documented and that spare and repair part usage is accurately projected in Maintenance On-line Management System (MOMS).
Interprets wiring schematics for use in troubleshooting replacement of electronic and electromechanical parts to place the toll equipment into optimum operating condition.
Operates lift trucks in accordance with all safety requirements in support of aerial work on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems and toll equipment gantry’s. Inspect Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) configurations to ensure the MOT is set up correctly and safely.
Coordinates with systems technicians at the Central Repair Depot (CRD) to troubleshoot malfunctions beyond the equipment technician’s capability or experience to repair. Keeps the CRD advised on status of spare and repair parts through the use of the Maintenance On-Line Management Systems (MOMS).
Removes damaged or onsite repairable equipment for shipping to the bench repair capability of the CRD; installs temporary or permanent replacement equipment as required.
Performs remote access to toll systems to determine malfunctions and conduct repair actions. Coordinates with Data Center software support personnel to resolve technical problems. Coordinates with technical field support personnel to resolve maintenance and repair issues.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to learn the operation of toll equipment systems; Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, parts/wiring diagrams; Skill to repair basic electronic malfunctions; Knowledge of complex electronic malfunction repair techniques; Knowledge of the theory of basic electricity; Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits; Ability to maintain an established maintenance schedule; Ability to submit accurate and timely data to a maintenance on-line management system via appropriate action forms; Ability to work independently, without constant supervision; Knowledge of basic electronic principles; Knowledge of complex electronic equipment and circuitry; Knowledge of disassembly procedures for complex electronic equipment and components; Ability to communicate orally in a clear and concise manner; Ability to follow both written and oral instructions; Knowledge of a Maintenance Management System; Ability to operate heavy equipment trucks and aerial equipment; Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds; Ability to work at a height of thirty (30) feet; Ability to stoop, climb, push, crawl and bend.
OTHER JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS: A Class E Driver's License is required. The incumbent must be available to work on-call shifts and during emergency situations. Obtain certification in Maintenance of Traffic - Intermediate Level within one year and maintain it.
