Position Details:
Title: Field Service Technician Location: Beltsville, MD Shift: Typically day shift
Compensation: Base compensation begins at $70K - $80K depending on experience and qualifications along with OT and performance bonus, company vehicle (Jeep Cherokee or Silverado pick-up) for all regional travel, company cell phone, test equipment, and annual performance-based bonus.

Position Description:
A world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers. The Field Service Technician will support customers in/near Beltsville, MD. Candidates MUST be located in/near Beltsville, MD.
Responsibilities include the optimization and support of complex communication
Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications including troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25 and data infrastructure.
Maintain, optimize, test, and document complex communications Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.
Perform maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues.
Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with a focus on trend analysis and documentation of results
Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues
Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques
Team with engineering, project management, and sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations
Knowledge/Skills:
Deliver a strong knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN), must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.
Knowledge of F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks
Knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques
Must be highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
Strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with customers and subcontractor community, as well as Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams
Self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision
Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations
Requirements:
Unique combinations of both multi-site RF communications systems and/or computer/networking skills are preferred.
At least 4+ years' experience in one of the following: Electronics Technician, System Technologist, System Manager, Communications System Technician, or Field Service
Experience with one or more of the following: LMR, RF systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communication systems or networking equipment
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government
Legal authorization to work in the S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship not available for this position any business.
