Requirements:Associate Degree in Mechanical, Electronic Technology or similar, accepting non degreed professional with commeasurable experience, Technical School graduate (Electrical/Mechanical background)
Experience working with electro-mechanical equipment is a plus
Ability to read basic electrical schematics is a plus
Willingness to be hands-on
Safely and effectively lift, carry, and move objects of varying weights
Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, standing, and walking for extended periods, maintaining necessary physical dexterity and coordination
Work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to varying temperatures, weather, and noise levels
The company provides training for qualified individuals, including on-the-job training. The duration of training depends on the applicant’s background, education, and ability to learn the company’s equipment and technologies.
Field Service Representatives must possess a strong work ethic, high energy level, excellent communication skills, and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time nationwide, with occasional international travel. This is a salaried position with additional compensation for travel on behalf of the company and its customers.
Primary Responsibilities:Assist customers on-site with equipment start-up
Train customer operators on-site in the use of equipment
Repair or replace problematic or failed components on-site as necessary
Approve warranty replacements as per equipment warranty stipulations, usually requiring factory verification
Provide off-hours customer phone assistance at times, typically over weekends/holidays (compensated accordingly)
When not traveling, Field Service Representatives perform the following functions:
Follow up on the last field service visit with customers to ensure all is well
Test completed weigh feeders, water treatment, and other equipment prior to shipment
Provide telephone and other types of assistance to customers
Assist Electrical Production in testing completed control panels
Write follow-up letters/memos to customers, reviewed by the Field Service Manager and possibly Sales prior to mailing
Investigate unusual problems experienced in the field with applicable in-house personnel
Maintain current expense reports
Be a team player and work cross-functionally
Manage resources and relationships, both internally and externally
Consistently evaluate processes and recommend changes when appropriate
Communicate effectively throughout the organization
Initiate new, creative ideas
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to new paths
Manage multiple projects effectively
Utilize strong problem-solving/troubleshooting practices
