About the Job
The Water Field Technician is responsible for operation, monitoring, and maintenance of water filtration equipment. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Rig up equipment on site ensuring proper connection of all plumbing and electrical equipment
- Monitor equipment, operating conditions, meters, and gauges and troubleshooting accordingly
- Record readings and operational data using a laptop, handheld device or written notes
- Collect water samples for testing and monitoring
- Inspect equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper working order
- Accurately documenting and record keeping of water sampling, testing, and readings
- Clean and maintain equipment and perform equipment maintenance as necessary
- Ensure all safety standards are met by observing safe working practices and safety rules and regulations
- Maintain secure, safe, and clean working environment
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Water/wastewater treatment experience preferred
- Must be detail oriented due to necessity of safety
- Possess good time management or organization ability
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to read gauges, collect samples for analysis, and writing ability to record results
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Mechanical experience working with tools
- Available to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency on-call
- CDL License is a plus or the willingness to get a CDL license
Working Conditions:
Technicians can be exposed to extreme heat, cold, humidity, precipitation, dusty conditions, mechanical parts, electrical equipment, chemicals, noxious fumes and odors. Technicians will work shifts for extended periods of time in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Must be able to perform the following:
- Occasionally bend and lift loads up to 100lbs while rigging up equipment and performing maintenance of equipment
- Occasionally load, unload, and move bulky equipment
- Occasionally reach above and below shoulders, bend, twist, and squat
- Sit, stand, and walk between multiple units for extended periods of time
- Drive vehicle to and from various work sites
- Pass a drug test on a regular basis
