Job Summary:
The Field Service Technician will assemble, install, troubleshoot, and commission automation systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Installation, testing and commissioning of vision, camera and scanning systems for high-speed automation systems at vendor and/or client sites.
- Installation and base level commissioning of new automation systems.
- Support on-site system installation, start-up, debug, and commissioning at vendor and/or client sites.
- Creates training and system documentation, as needed.
- Provide remote support to clients and team members to troubleshoot system process problems.
- Complete formal training programs to increase knowledge of specific vision, camera, and scanning systems.
- Provide daily reports to supervisor that summarize work completed that day and outline remaining tasks to be completed for current project assignment.
- Accurately tracking and reporting all time spent and expenses incurred for work performed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Comfortable with Mechanical and Electrical assembly and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and follow AutoCAD drawings for system layouts, assembly, and troubleshooting.
- Work independently at specifics tasks and as a member of a team on larger tasks.
- Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
- Ability to work in a “live production environment”.
Education and Experience:
- Two-year technical degree, or other equivalent educational experience is preferred.
- At least three years of related experience is preferred but not required.
- Training is provided by company.
- Previous experience with mechanical and electrical systems is a plus.
- Experience automated vision systems is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Must be able to work nights and/or weekends as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
