POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Vaccinator is responsible for vaccinating broilers and pullets in the field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Vaccinates broilers and breeders according to schedule and established procedures, determining correct blood collections and labeling schedules.
- Determines the correct vaccine and dosage to be administered to broiler birds and to pullets, considering pullet age.
- Monitors vaccine inventory and ensures adequate supply to meet business needs.
- Develops schedule for Vaccinators for the week and informs growers of vaccination dates and times.
- Monitors vaccination equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Makes necessary repairs or orders parts as needed.
- Communicates with Company Veterinarian on vaccinations and blood work.

- Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL,S AND ABILITIES
- High school or GED required
- Ability to perform blood drawing procedure in compliance with Animal Welfare guidelines
- 3-5 years experience required
- Class D Drivers License
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in dusty environment with exposure to chemicals and temperature extremes
- Detail and organizational skills required
- Good communication skills
