Finance and Accounting Associate
A well-established venture capital firm located in Boston is seeking a Finance and Accounting Associate to join their team. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance and ensure all aspects of financial reporting and operations are maintained for the firm. This role sits on the internal finance team and will focus on budgeting, forecasting, and accounting operations. This is a hybrid position and the firm is willing to pay up to $85k on a base plus bonus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Manage payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.

Maintain general ledger and intercompany transactions across multiple entities.

Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and investment performance.

Support in developing budgets and forecasts.

Analyze budget variances and provide insights on financial trends.

Support preparation of monthly management company financial statements.

Assist in preparing materials for regulatory filings and audits.

Maintain and update financial databases, vendor files and other records.

Collaborate with the operations team in managing fund operations.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business.

One to three years of experience in finance, accounting, or a relevant field (including co-ops).

Strong accounting and financial reporting skills.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Working knowledge of financial databases and software such as Quickbooks, Bill.com, Expensify and banking platforms.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
