Finance Associate
AcuityMD is a software and data platform that accelerates access to medical technologies. Each year, the FDA approves ~6,000 new medical devices. Our platform helps MedTech companies get these products to physicians more effectively so they can improve patient care with the latest technology. As a Finance Associate at AcuityMD, you will be an integral part of the Finance & Business Operations team. In this role, you'll have an significant impact on the company by ensuring that AcuityMD is operating and growing efficiently, and driving the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes. By owning critical work such as accounts receivable, payroll, and procurement, you'll directly contribute to the company's operational success and strategic decision-making.
Team Mission
Business Operations & Finance exists to resolve ambiguity at AcuityMD. We're a team of business generalists unifying AcuityMD's business strategy with available resources. We aim to improve collaboration in evolving business processes during rapid growth. We push progress on central planning initiatives, including measuring and improving business performance, driving clarity on company goals, and aligning the leadership team on critical business initiatives. And we often help stand up early versions of functions at AcuityMD. Over time, we build the organizational capacity for teams to operate without us.
Responsibilities
- Analysis & Insights: Inform decision-making by conducting financial analysis to highlight important trends and insights, and communicate findings to leadership.
- Cash Flow Optimization: Lead accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) operations to enhance cash conversion by owning invoicing, payment collections, escalations, and process automation.
- Procurement & Spend Management: Oversee efficient payments to vendors and partners, manage procurement approvals for new vendors, audit and track spend to ensure alignment with company goals, and recommend improvements to drive efficiency and adherence to company policies.
- Finance Operations: Support month-end financial close process, partnering closely with Accounting to identify discrepancies and ensure financial data aligns with business realities.
- External Requests: Help gather materials for audits, investor requests, and state and federal tax agencies as needed.
Your Profile
- Bachelors degree from a 4-year university
- 4-6+ years of experience in tech, startups, or B2B SaaS in a finance or accounting role
- You are highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
- You have a keen eye for detail and a strong focus on process, ensuring consistently high levels of accuracy and quality in your work
- Data driven mindset with the ability to understand, analyze, and derive insights from data to drive decision making
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity, and a strong bias for action
- You are naturally curious and enjoy taking on new challenges
Nice to Haves
- Previous experience in FP&A, Accounting, Business Operations, or Strategic Finance
- Previous experience using QuickbooksOnline is a plus
- You're passionate about the healthcare and / or the medical device industry
- Willingness to travel domestically 2-4x per year to company off-sites
You must have an eligible work permit in the USA or Canada to be considered for this position
