The DPDS Discovery Finance Manager will provide financial and strategic leadership for the Therapeutics Discovery (TD) organization, within Discovery, Product Development, and Supply (DPDS), and its global leadership teams.
Key activities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Finance leader to the TD global Leadership Team members, where candidate demonstrates strategic thinking, provides financial insights, and challenges assumptions relative to key business initiatives and the prioritization and planning of R&D investments.
- Full ownership of the consolidation of total Discovery financial results and processes, including presentation framing/delivery to senior leaders and partnering with the Therapeutic Area Finance colleagues on new financial reporting processes for Discovery that will drive better decision making and prioritization.
- Lead a team of 2-4 professionals. Provide coaching and mentoring and create an inclusive environment of professional growth.
- Lead Forecast and Actual cycles for TD, including long-range financial planning (LRFP), annual business planning, updates, and actual reporting. Drive the framing and communication of strategy, forecasts, and financial results to Business and Finance leadership.
- Support ~600MM in annual Operating Expenses, ~$50MM of Capital Investment.
- Lead & participate in ad hoc strategic projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate across J&J Innovative Medicine Finance to drive simplification of finance processes.
- Partner across finance (Functions, Therapeutic Areas, FP&A, Innovation Centers, Business Development) and Discovery business to support external innovation opportunities and strategic investments.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably a major in Accounting or Finance.
- MBA and/or CPA, CMA, are preferred.
- Minimum of three years of finance or related business experience is required.
- People management experience strongly preferred
- The ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required.
- Ability to positively manage conflict and negotiate is required
- Excellent analytical (MS Excel) and presentation (PowerPoint) skills required.
- The ability to think creatively and work in a team environment is required.
- Trusted business partner with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The preferred location is Spring House, PA or Titusville, NJ. The candidate can be based out of either location with regular commuting to each on a regular basis.
The base pay range for this position is $97,000 - $166,750.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
