Description
We are looking for a high-caliber Finance Manager to support Project Santos to drive domain teams projects with strategic significance and high exposure. In this role you will work closely with business leaders to define the strategy for the business and help the team through project ideation to post-implementation activities. You will be responsible for building scalable finance processes and analytical frameworks that can be leveraged by multiple cross-functional teams. You will apply both business and analytical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous and innovative environment.
We are looking for an experienced finance leader with strong analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to clearly articulate financial results and analytical insights to senior business and finance leaders, both verbally and in writing. Scrappiness is a must, as is the ability to dive deep into the data to help the new business achieve results. The successful candidate should be able to think and act strategically and tactically, possess solid business judgment, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the desire to dive deep into data results and problem solving.

Key job responsibilities
- Deliver financial analyses, insights, narratives, recommendations, and solutions to business and finance leaders
- Provide strategic guidance and feedback to support key program decisions including long-term business vision, product roadmap, and pricing
- Own the implementation and validation of systems that support financial and accounting activities after product and service launches
- Invent, implement, and track key metrics in an effort to generate insights and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead monthly financial reviews, quarterly forecasting, and annual planning processes
- Drive increased efficiencies through reporting automation, outsourcing, and process optimization
A day in the life
As a team that is still launching and building, we must participate with all analytics that provide decision support for areas such as payback/ROI, efficiency of spend related to marketing/discounts/promotions, product valuation and incremental value, etc. Much of the work is ambiguous, but with a solid foundation of critical thinking skills and resourcefulness, helping provide a solid financial framework across activities will become a baseline for prioritization and improved decision making.
About the team
The Finance Manager will work in a highly collaborative team with multiple stakeholders, not limited to our primary business partners. Our team identifies opportunities and potential risks to our product plan, features, and pricing. We collaborate with business leaders and quantify, analyze, and recommend incremental business building activities.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
