Position Overview
The North America Procurement Finance Manager acts as a business partner working with procurement leadership, direct material category managers, and financial management. This role supports the North America procurement team, including category managers who manage vendor relationships and sourcing for multiple raw material verticals for the company. The Procurement Finance Manager partners with procurement directors and category managers to further the procurement strategies and provide timely visibility and insights into procurement cost trends, savings analytics, inflation forecasting, capital expenditures, and inventory analysis. This role will support various financial and operational projects, identify performance improvement opportunities, and evaluate the return on capital purchases while protecting the company assets.
What you'll do
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. (These examples do not include all the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.)
- Ensures adoption of and compliance with standard month-end close processes and procedures and coordinates a standardized but continually improving approach for all procurement and divisional monthly business reviews.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and identify and correct weaknesses.
- Partner with HDNA FP&A to enable and ensure the accurate inclusion of procurement level detail in Division, Brand, and HDNA reporting, forecasting, and planning.
- Communicate monthly reports of results, periodic forecasts, and annual procurement operating plan/budget (includes generation of reports as necessary) providing insights and recommendations. Ensure that savings projects are properly tracked and included in the Cost Savings Tracker and included in budget and forecast preparation.
- Support procurement leadership with insights and updates to senior leadership.
- Partner with procurement and finance leadership to prepare and monitor the annual capital plan. Contribute financial analysis support and guidance to prepare capital expenditure and cost-saving proposals.
- Prepare project templates, financial templates, and consolidate monthly analyses and reports for actual vs budget/prior year results and variance analysis.
- Conduct price volume and mix analysis, cost savings analytics, make vs buy analysis, commodity index analysis, price sensitivities to raw material indexes, contract analysis, vendor rebates, and capital expenditures.
- Act as IT liaison to address critical business reporting needs.
- Schedule alignment between procurement and finance – budgets, forecasts, month-end.
- Assist external and internal auditors by providing clear supporting explanations and documents.
- Ensure that work is performed in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and those established by the company.
- Perform ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.
- Liaison to procurement for ad-hoc analysis coordination and reconciliation to financial figures.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Position requires regular and predictable attendance.

Who you are
An employee in this position upon appointment should have the equivalent of the following:
- Expert knowledge of material procurement, including purchase orders, goods receipts, invoice and cash management through the procure-to-pay functions.
- Expert knowledge of and demonstrated use of the principles of cost accounting.
- Expert knowledge of computer use and software such as Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Expert knowledge of SAP and the extrapolation of data for costing purposes.
- Solid knowledge of the principles of establishing profit/cost margins.
- Solid knowledge of the use and preparation of pro-forma statements.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships.
- Ability to analyze cause and effect relationships in a problem and develop resolution alternatives.
- Ability to gather and synthesize financial information from several sources to prepare pro-forma statements.
- Ability to control emotions and maintain consistent performance under pressure, uncertainty, or opposition.
- Ability to multi-task and independently prioritize work.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Acceptable Training and Experience requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with emphasis in General/Cost Accounting. 5-7 years of previous experience in providing costing/expense and variance analysis within a manufacturing environment is required. MBA, CMA, CPA are all preferred.
