About the Job
Required Education:
•High School Diploma
Preferred Education:
•Undergraduate studies in finance, economics, accounting or related disciplines
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
•No experience required with related undergraduate degree
•Equivalent background acquired through three years of related work experience, in lieu of degree
•Basic knowledge of financial analysis and financial statement preparation
•Verbal and written communication skills for internal contacts
•Analytical skills and the ability to compile finance information
•Ability to operate personal computer and related financial and business software
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
•Knowledge of basic mathematical and statistical concepts and workflow procedures
•Basic familiarity with GAAP accounting practices preferred
Finance Technician Overview:
Assists in the preparation of financial statements and reports. Provides technical assistance in the area of reporting and publishing, data collection, analysis, and research assistance, and report preparation, as well as report and project scheduling. Maintains financial information databases and related supporting documentation. Performs day-to-day administrative duties to keep track of related functions. Assists in all core functions of the team.
Job Duties:
•Compiles information for the preparation of financial statements, routine or custom reports and related documentation
•Creates clear, concise financial reports
•Assists with special financial studies as assigned
•Assists in the preparation of routine financial information and reports for external regulatory agencies
•Assists management and analysts in research, analysis, creation, maintenance, and distribution of internal corporate reports
•Maintains procedures, formats, financial records, and information including spreadsheets and files
•Handles routine administrative work such as billing statements, and budget expense reconciliation
•Assists in all of the core duties and functions of the work unit
•Performs other related duties as assigned
