Position Overview
Financial Aid Scholarships (FAS) at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Financial Aid Administrator to join our Scholarship Team. This position will assist with the administration of various scholarship programs to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant awarding of aid. This employee will serve as a primary contact for campus partners regarding UNT scholarship administration. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, work well within a team as well as independently, and be able to manage multiple projects at once.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's in related field, 3 years in student services or related roles. Equivalent education, training, experience accepted. Must maintain good standing on federal student loans, grant NSLDS access for hire & continued employment.

- In depth knowledge of financial aid processes, policies and procedures or ability to quickly assimilate.

Preferred Qualifications
- Three years experience working within a financial aid office.
- Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding the administration of financial aid. Integrity, honesty, and responsibility with a desire to contribute to a team.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
As a condition of hire and continued employment, must be in good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for the office to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to verify such standing.
Job Duties:
- Assist with officewide tasks such as aid adjustments and customer service inquiries during peak times.
- Process scholarship awards to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.
- Provide customer service and guidance to students, families, and campus partners regarding scholarship opportunities, eligibility, and related processes. Serve as point-of-contact for in-depth scholarship questions.
- Responsible for reviewing and completing quality controls related to scholarship and financial aid administration.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of federal, state, NCAA, and institutional rules and regulations regarding the administration of scholarships and financial aid. Monitor federal, state, NCAA, and institutional aid administration updates for impact to processing and/or customer service provided. Provide feedback and recommendations to supervisor regarding scholarship and related policies and procedures to help develop and maintain best business practices.
- Assist in documentation of scholarship policy and procedures to include step-by-step training guides. Provide training related to scholarship processes for coworkers and colleagues.
- Participate in outreach initiatives that promote awareness of scholarships and other forms of financial assistance. Assist with creation of presentations. Conduct presentations as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with occasional nights/weekends.
