Job Summary
Assist with financial aid processes to provide clerical and technical support for the Financial Aid Office in the awarding and maintaining of federal, state and institutional aid while providing excellent customer service.
Job Duties
- 35% - Communicate with students regarding financial aid related matters such as available programs, eligibility requirements, application procedures and deadlines while upholding confidentiality and security of private information. Track data needed to start and complete student files and send follow up requests. Process WIOA and Voc Rehab applications, and Consortium Agreements. - (Essential)
- 30% - Assist students at front counter and by phone as needed. Assist students in completing the FAFSA. Process incoming mail. Receive and route calls appropriately. Respond to all email messages received. - (Essential)
- 25% - Provide clerical and technical support for federal and state programs. Utilize our campus administrative system, Banner, to serve students and colleagues. Prepare the financial aid information/status for orientation sessions as needed. - (Essential)
- 5% - Assist with the preparation of files for shredding, including scanning and quality control. Serve as primary office user for SciQuest supply order and PO system. - (Marginal)
- 5% - Perform other duties as assigned. - (Marginal)
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of clerical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree. Financial aid experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and public relations communication skills; ability to effectively communicate using written and verbal skills; ability to work across teams and with a variety of constituencies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Banner database experience is a plus. Ability to perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to perform calculations related to financial aid data as needed. Accuracy and attention to detail required. Reasoning and personal judgment abilities required in decision-making, advising and assisting students, applying relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations and performing various tasks. Comprehensive knowledge of office procedures. Customer service oriented. Time management, organizational, and multitasking skills are required. Must be able to exercise ethics and maintain confidentiality.

Pay Rate: $31,677- $38,011 (Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.)
